Graphitized Recarburizer

Graphitized recarburizer can be used as carbon raiser (Recarburizer) to produce high quality steel, cast iron and alloy, also be used in plastic and rubber as an additive.

Introduction of Graphitized Recarburizer:

In the smelting process of steel products, it is often because of the long time of smelting, heat preservation, overheating, etc, the melting loss of carbon element in molten iron increases, the decrease of the carbon content in molten iron results in that the carbon content does not reach the expected theoretical value of refining.
The carbon containing substances added into molten iron in order to make up for the loss of carbon in the process of melting is called recarburizer (Carbon raiser).

Applications of Graphitized Recarburizer:

Used for casting. Cast iron, cast steel. Casting parts have requirement for carbon, recarburizer(Carbon raiser) is used to increase the carbon content in molten iron. Pig iron, scrap steel, foundry returns are commonly used in smelting furnace, carbon content in pig iron is high, however the purchase price of it is much higher than scrap steel, so, putting in more scrap steel, less pig iron and using recarburizer(Carbon raiser) can reduce the cost of casting parts to some extent.
The use of recarburizer(Carbon raiser) can not only make up for the burning loss of carbon in the process of steel smelting and ensure requirement for Carbon of specific grade of steel, but also can be used for in-furnace adjustment. As an important raw material of molten iron in induction furnace, the quality and usage of recarburizer(Carbon raiser) directly affect the state of molten iron.
After slag removal and degassing treatment, adding a specific brand of recarburizer(Carbon raiser) into the ladle can adjust the content of carbon, so as to achieve the purpose of multiple grades in one laddle. The materials used as Recarburizer are mainly graphite, graphite-like, electrode lump, coke, silicon carbide, etc. The commonly used electrode lump and silicon carbide recarburizer have the advantages of high carbon content and strong oxidation resistance, but production technology is complicated and cost is high. With coke powder, graphite as Recarburizer material, production cost is lower than electrode lump materials, but the content of ash and sulfur is high, carbon content is low, carburizing effect is not good.
